The mastic tree is an evergreen shrub that grows and develops very slowly, becoming fully grown after forty to fifty years, and reaching up to the height of fifteen feet when it is mature. Mastiha is not certified organic. Due to the fact that Mastiha is a very resistant plant, the cultivation of the tree is pesticides free. For safety reasons and because at the same area there are olive trees, the Mastiha Growers Association does perform analysis of pesticides and herbicides for all of the batches before being sold. There have never been any pesticide residues on the Mastiha. Mastiha is processed by hand and no chemicals are used in the process of cleaning and preparing the resin.

Larry July 22, 2014 This is the highest purity, most natural chewing gum anywhere. Helps digestion after meals and is great for teeth and gums. Perhaps the biggest health benefit over regular chewing gums is that Pure Gum Mastic is completely free of any additives!
