Overview

Famous dentist Royal Lee believed that:

Vitamin C is the most important of the vitamins, and is the most difficult to get. It is oxidized so easily that it disappears in storage of citrus fruits and vegetables.

Tradtional Foods Market organic acerola cherry, contains only certified organic cherries and comes from the biodynamic acerola cherry grower in Brazil. The cherries are grown with biodynamic principals to create a healthy ecosystem, which includes seasonal crops, pastures, herbs, and a herd of pastured cows for natural fertilizer. Freeze drying and spray drying changes the acerola’s pH and reduces its vitamin levels. This vitamin C is processed with a proprietary gentle low heat method. As a result, the natural cherry color flavor and smell remains unchanged. Lab tests confirm that no vitamin C is lost during the process. Each bottle contains at least 25,000 mg of only naturally occurring vitamin C per bottle. This is truly natural vitamin C—there is no ascorbic acid added or synthetic vitamins added at all. It’s just powdered organic cherry.

Humans do not have the ability to make ascorbic acid and must obtain vitamin C from their diet. Vitamin C is thus considered an essential dietary component, it protects against damage caused by free radicals, and is essential for the body to have to make collagen—the flexible protein found in cartilage, tendons, bone, and skin.*

Organic Low Temperature Acerola Vitamin C Contents

¼ teaspoon of Tradtional Foods Market Organic Acerola Cherry contains as much vitamin C as four whole oranges, and without all that unnecessary fruit sugar. That equates to at least 250mg of naturally occurring vitamin C per ¼ teaspoon.

True Vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It is used to:

  • Form an important protein used to make skin, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels
  • Heal wounds and form repairative scar tissue
  • Repair and maintain cartilage, bones, and teeth

Whole Food Vitamin C vs. Ascorbic Acid

Most Vitamin C supplements on the market are synthetic forms of vitamin C. Only a few companies sell true vitamin C that comes from berries. Camu Camu, Amala, and Acerola cherries are some of the few food sources that naturally contain very high amounts of naturally occurring vitamin C. Synthetic vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid can over time tax your organs, as much of it gets eliminated through the urine. Some recent studies suggest that isolated ascorbic acid can actually become a free-radical generator which can suppress the immune system.

Most vitamin C and multivitamin supplements contain ascorbic acid or ascorbate, which is the outer ring that surrounds the real vitamin C complex. Real vitamin C is a complex of several different factors, all of which must work together to get Vitamin C’s health benefits.

Vitamin C Deficiency Symptoms

Whole food vitamin C can efficiently reach and nourish all of the cells of your body, and therefore, contains numerous health benefits. Too little vitamin C can lead to signs and symptoms of vitamin C deficiency, including:

  • Anemia
  • Bleeding gums
  • Decreased ability to fight infection
  • Decreased wound-healing rate
  • Dry and splitting hair
  • Easy bruising
  • Inflammation of the gums
  • Nosebleeds
  • Possible weight gain because of slowed metabolism
  • Rough, dry, scaly skin
  • Swollen and painful joints
  • Weakened tooth enamel
Organic Acerola Cherry

Organic Cherry Farm

The farm in Brazil is the world’s largest grower of organic and Biodynamic Acerola cherries today. The different elements that compose the landscape like pastures, orchards, annual crops, herbs, and animals, as well as forests and meadows, are integrated in correct proportion so as to allow mutual support and are complimentary, so that they start operating within a unified living farm-organism. Crop health and fruit quality are achieved without harming the environment by creating and sustaining a new biological balance. The farm has been certified by IBD (Instituto Biodinâmico) since 1999, and possesses two important certification seals: “Organic IBD” and “Demeter,” which assures the adherence to the rigorous norms of organic and Biodynamic quality.

Vitamin C and UV Light

Vitamin C limits the damage induced by ultraviolet (UV) light exposure. Vitamin C is not a “sunscreen” because it does not absorb light in the UVA or UVB spectrum. Rather, the antioxidant activity of vitamin C protects against UV-induced damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C combats “photodamage” which results in wrinkling or the natural ageing look of the skin.

Other Vitamin Cs Compared to Holistic Dental Vitamin C

Did you know that other spray dried fruit powders can contain up to 15 percent hidden maltodextrin? Some maltodextrin is made from manioc root, but it is still in the end, maltodextrin.

We are using generic vitamin C names here because we are not trying to harm other vitamin C products. We want to emphasize the benefits of buying High Vitamin C, for your vitamin C needs.

Goodbye yucky camu camu
Hannah October 31, 2015 FINALLY a real vitamin C powder that is bioavailable and concentrated. I was so tired of chugging gross camu camu powder. I need a high dose of vitamin C since I'm doing the iodine protocol, and this works fantastically. I have so much more energy and my mood is fantastic the day after I take my vitamin C. It really flushes out those toxins that drag you down. Will continue to purchase as long as it's available.
Delicious!
Sandrine Love October 27, 2014 It tastes absolutely delicious! So delicious that I think children would really enjoy taking it! I put it right on my tongue the first time and really wanted more!
I can feel it
Christina July 26, 2014 Wow, I've tried many different vitamin C products before. With this one I can feel it give me a kick right away. It seems to help with the nervous system function.
